Effective September 1, 2023, the revised Data Protection Act (DSG) will take effect in Switzerland. To strengthen the impact of the DSG, it includes several penal provisions for various violations of the Act. In contrast to the previous law, the new sanctions under the revised DSG have been significantly tightened. The criminal offenses are set forth in Articles 60–63 of the DSG.
